Due to our rapid growth at Transmission & Distribution Ltd, we’re looking to recruit an experienced Overhead Lines Construction Manager (Access and Enabling Works)to meet our increasing project demands, with a site-based role in the Argyll area that may require travel across Scotland.

This opportunity is a site-based position, we have works issued under various OHL frameworks supporting various clients. You will need to be flexible in your work location as you will be away from home for periods of time and will travel and work across Scotland. The Role

Supporting the Project Manager and Senior Construction Manager, you will supervise and deliver key packages of overhead lines (OHL) construction projects, specifically access and enabling works. You will assist in the production of construction plans and coordinate the engineering support team. You will also be responsible for the procurement of construction materials and specialist subcontracts for the successful delivery of projects. You will have previous experience of managing sites and field-based staff on overhead lines (OHL) projects and associated civil works. Technical expertise of OHL installation methods and all safety aspects including safety from the system are key. Previous working knowledge of distribution network operators is essential.

Expected:

8. Minimum qualification to International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED) Level 5 (technical diploma/ apprenticeship) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience
9. Previous experience of managing sites and field-based staff on overhead lines (OHL) projects and associated civil works
10. Technical expertise of overhead lines (OHL) installation methods and all safety aspects
11. Previous experience of working for distribution network operators
12. Ability to deliver works in line with project schedules, including resource and material forecasting
13. Experience managing subcontractors and recording measurement details for financial settlement
14. Previous experience of supervising Engineering Support teams on projects through all phases of design, construction, commissioning & close out
15. Experienced in coordinating and controlling team delivery in accordance with agreed cost, schedule & change without compromising Safety Health Environment & Quality (SHEQ) standards
16. Good knowledge of street works, and Local Authorities permit requirements
17. Accredited Safety Training, Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) as a minimum
18. Recognised training in the function of temporary Works Coordinator
19. Possess a recognised safety qualification such as Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) or National Examination Board of Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH)
20. Full UK Driving License
