My clients are a pioneering within Agri-tech product that leverages transcriptomics, machine learning, and AI to analyse gene expression in production animals in the context of real-world farm data.
Role:
We’re looking for an experienced UI/UX designer to play the crucial role of designing world-class software features that bring cutting-edge computational biology and AI-driven precision agriculture to users in the farming community. You'll contribute to clients mission as part of a multidisciplinary product team that comprises biological science subject matter experts, bioinformaticians, data scientists, and software engineers.
Responsibilities:
● Develop a deep understanding of the wider business and tech context of the UX problems being tackled, and conduct UX research, with support from the Head of Product.
● Create artefacts, such as sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mock-ups and interactive prototypes, to facilitate testing of design ideas.
● Working with the Head of Product and Head of software, create software UI designs iteratively as a product trio team, to ensure designs satisfy UX, business and tech requirements.
● Prepare design documents to record the key considerations behind design decisions.
● Perform iterative UI reviews with software and QA engineers throughout the feature delivery process to ensure the design is translated properly by the engineers into real features.
● Maintain the UI-kit and establish a design system, such as layout grid, typography, colour palettes and high-level code-aligned interface components. Ensure the design system aligns with the company's branding.
Requirements:
● Excellent communication skills. Candidates will have a strong advantage if they are fluent in Finnish and Swedish in addition to English.
● Proficient in tools such as Figma for creating high-fidelity prototypes.
● Comfortable and confident in presenting designs to stakeholders.
● Experience working with a multidisciplinary team (especially software engineering) in an agile environment.
● Experience in designing intuitive user interfaces of novel technical products for non-tech users, especially in data visualisation.
Preferable Skills:
● The ideal candidate will also demonstrate graphic design skills to support the creation of digital and in-print marketing materials.
