NHS Fife is hiring a part-time Clerical Officer to support the Ophthalmology department’s cataract unit. This role is ideal for candidates with strong clerical experience, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with healthcare systems like Trakcare.

* Location: Dunfermline, Scotland
* Salary: £28,000–£30,000 per year (pro rata)
* Contract Type: Part-Time
* Department: Ophthalmology (Cataract Unit)
* Reports To: Senior Charge Nurse, Ophthalmology
* PVG Scheme Membership: Required prior to appointment
Responsibilities
* Handle multiple telephone calls from GPs, opticians, patients, and healthcare departments
* Navigate Trakcare system and organise patient appointments
* Provide clerical support to patients, staff, and public within the Ophthalmology department
* Maintain professional communication and coordination across teams
Required Qualifications & Skills
* Clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
* Strong telephone communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple calls and tasks efficiently
* Familiarity with appointment systems and patient coordination
* Experience in ophthalmology (preferred but not essential)
