This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified, qualified or QBE accountant to step into a commercially focused finance role that supports strategic decision-making and business performance. The role has no month end responsibilities and is solely focused on providing insights to support the growth of the organisation. Furthermore, the business has an innovative, award-winning, patented product, so is forecasting some excellent growth in the coming years - this role has the potential to grow with the business. Based in Stirling 4 days a week and 1 day from home, with flexible hours available, this role sits within a collaborative finance team and reports directly to the Head of Finance. You’ll be involved in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, KPI tracking, and systems development, making a real impact on how the business plans and performs. The organisation is currently expanding in the US, so there may be an opportunity to travel should the candidate wish to, but there is no requirement to do so. Job Purpose To support strategic decision-making through the delivery of high-quality financial analysis, robust budgeting and forecasting processes, development of financial models, KPI tracking, and enhancement of financial systems and reporting capabilities. Responsibilities: Budgeting & Forecasting • Coordinate and support the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes • Work closely with budget holders to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and challenge submissions • Prepare consolidated budget models and reports for senior management and board review • Identify and explain key variances against budgets and forecasts Financial Modelling • Build and maintain dynamic financial models to support scenario analysis, investment appraisal, and business planning • Ensure models are flexible, transparent, and fit for purpose • Develop long-term financial projections (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) KPI Tracking & Performance Analysis • Define, track, and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) across departments and business units • Deliver insightful monthly management reporting packs highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities • Drive continuous improvement in performance monitoring and business insights Systems Development & Reporting Automation • Assist in the development and optimisation of financial systems (e.g. ERP, planning tools, BI tools) • Automate manual processes and improve reporting workflows using tools like Power BI, Excel VBA, or SQL • Act as a liaison between finance, IT, and third-party system vendors for system improvements Business Partnering • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their operations and support their financial needs • Translate financial insights into actionable recommendations Key Skills & Competencies: • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving mindset Qualifications & Experience: • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA) desirable • 2 - 4 years' experience in management accounts, financial analysis, or related roles • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting in a mid-to-large organisation Desirable (but not essential): • Experience in systems implementation or upgrades • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or other data tools • Exposure to a fast-paced or high-growth environment • Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) Please reach out to Ally Deas for more information at Rutherford Cross Our client is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.
