Unit & Position Role Unit Function Based within the 1* Deputy Director People Strategy area of the 2* People and Training Directorate, the People Policy team within People Policy, Strategy and Plans is evolving to become the focal point for all RN/RM Regular and Reserve people centred policy development. The primary purpose of the team is to govern, develop and cohere our people policies, whilst ensuring strategic coherence with wider Defence People Policy. Position Role This role has been prioritised during a restructure of the RN People Policy team to be a core part of a new enabling Policy Development (Pol Dev) and governance pillar for People and Training Policy. Working as part of a small team of 5 Military staff, consisting of 2 x OF4, 1 x OF3, 1x OR7 and 1 x OR4, this role will assist in the delivery of agile people policy sprints, targeted to develop and deliver improvements to identified high priority people policy issues. The primary function will draw upon your broad management expertise to cohere and oversee all PSP internal processes. In addition, you will have an active and rewarding role in people policy development across the breadth of RN and RM regular and reserve people policy. This PolDev function works broadly with the policy teams to rapidly develop solutions to solve current people policy problems that have been identified and fed back from the front line. Secondary responsibilities of this role will include provision of key support to the wider PSP team as directed by SO1 Pillar Leads and may include support to Restorative Policy and Service Leaver events. Responsibilities On behalf of Hd PSP and as directed by SO2 Pol Dev, cohere and manage all PSP internal processes, including but not limited to, sprint/leave trackers, Terms of Reference, travel requirements. Be the PSP Assistant Information Manager. Be the PSP Assistant Travel Authorising Officer. Provide oversight and governance for all Royal Navy Temporary Memoranda (RNTMs) relating to People Policy, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, compliance with current legislation and Service regulations, and consistency across all policy communications. Provide support across SO1 Pillar leads, as directed by SO2 or OR7 Pol Dev. Provide support to SO1 Restorative Policy, including events, as required. Provide support to SO1 Holistic Transition & Veterans Service Leaver events, as required. Deputise for the PSP OR7 Pol Dev in their absence. Where requested, conduct any other duties as required by SO2 or OR7 Pol Dev. Undertake secondary duties, including but not restricted to Duty Junior Rate, HMS EXCELLENT.
