The role
We are a family of 4 comprised of my fiancé & I, our 16 month old son Theodore, and our dog Veda. In August we will move to the Lyme Regis area on the border of Devon and Dorset (we are currently based in Italy).
We would like to find the right person to become our part time '3rd caregiver' for our son, as my fiancé is about to start studying full time and I run my own business from home (well...I try!), and I would prefer not to put him in Daycare as I think something part time and regular, with the same person, would be better for his emotional stability and sense of security at what is still a young age. Ideally we would like to employ someone in a permanent role, from Monday-Friday, for 4 hours every morning, as our son's dedicated carer and playmate.
It would also be wonderful if from this relationship the same person could become our (very) occasional babysitter for the odd evening out (as our son would know them well, although generally we would always put him to bed before going out and he's an excellent sleeper, so in most cases that would not involve any actual 'baby care' as such, just a relaxing time on the sofa!).
This extra role would be a plus but is also certainly not a must: the priority is in finding the right part-time nanny to get to know and build a relationship with.
