We require an accountant for 1 or more of our 3 local Community Energy Groups (Greensand, River Ivel and Buzz). The groups are small with relatively low turnover but we are looking to expand and work more closely on the larger projects.
What difference will you make?
Having someone knowledgeable to do the accounts would be a massive weigh off the shoulders of the current overstretched volunteers who are doing the accounts at the moment. We our expansion plans, we need expert help and advice. Having an accountant to volunteer with us is a vital part of our future vision.
What are we looking for?
Accountant. Experience of Community Benefits Society is desirable. Happy to work remotely as well as attend in person meetings. Most meetings are online. Proactive and willing to suggest better ways of working. A passion for a sustainable future. Willingness to get involved in other areas of the business is desirable if you have additional time.
What will you be doing?
The tasks would include Produce quarterly financial management reports in a way that can easily feed into the creation of the annual report and accountsProduce the end year accounts and the FCA's AR30 in readiness for AGMsAdvise on better ways for us to manage our finances on a regular basis. You will need to be able to travel to Ampthill/Flitwick for the quarterly meetings. You will be asked to join other meetings which may be in person or online. All meetings are held in the evening. Initially the role will be volunteering with Greensand Community Energy but we would either like the role to expand to the other 2 groups or get more accounting volunteers.
