The role
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Barnet to assist with the appointment of a Domestic Violence Team Manager, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £24.10 - £31.80 per hour
Summary:
The Domestic Violence Team Manager will lead the Barnet Domestic Abuse Safety Hub (BDASH), overseeing the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed support services for survivors of domestic abuse. Managing a multidisciplinary team of Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs), Domestic Abuse Intervention Officers (DAIOs), and specialist practitioners, the post holder will ensure effective service delivery, safeguarding, partnership working, contract compliance, and performance management.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of the Barnet Domestic Abuse Safety Hub (BDASH).
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with contractual requirements, organisational standards, local authority expectations, and relevant quality frameworks.
- Embed trauma-informed, survivor-centred, culturally responsive, and inclusive practice across all service delivery.
- Oversee safeguarding practices, ensuring risks and concerns are identified, managed, and escalated appropriately.
- Develop, implement, and monitor annual team and individual work plans.
- Manage relevant contracts, partnership agreements, and referral pathways.
Qualification:
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant discipline such as Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field.
- Level 3 regulated qualification in supporting victims of domestic abuse (e.g. SafeLives IDVA accreditation or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience working within domestic abuse services.
Essentials:
- Demonstrable management or leadership experience within domestic abuse, safeguarding, or related support services.
- Strong knowledge of domestic abuse legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and best practice guidance.
- Thorough understanding of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021, Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, and related legislation.
- Experience of managing advocacy, support, or intervention services for vulnerable individuals.
- Experience working within multi-agency environments, including MARAC processes and partnership arrangements.
