Divisional associate medical director - ecat division

London
Barts Health NHS Trust
Associate medical director
Posted: 21 November
Offer description

Job overview

We are offering two challenging and exciting opportunities for medical leaders following the Divisional consultation and re-structure undertaken over the summer. From 1 January, the Royal London & Mile End Hospital Executive will include 4 Divisions as:

1. Surgery
2. Medicine
3. (Children's & Maternity) - a new name TBC
4. ECAT (now including Imaging)

The Integrated Care Services Division has been disestablished, and Women's & Outpatients aligned to new reporting structures. We have Divisional Directors in role for Medicine (Raj Thuraisingham) & [Children's & Maternity] (Vadivelam Murthy, after a selection process arising from the consultation).

Main duties of the job

We will move to a new model of Divisional leadership, where we appoint equivalent triumvirate roles as the Divisional Associate Medical Director, the Divisional Associate Director of Nursing and the Divisional Director of Operations. We will then manage a process where the Divisional Director, a Hospital Board role, is selected from these three roles. All Divisional Director roles will move towards this over time.

Today, we are seeking two Divisional Associate Medical Directors, one for Surgery and one for ECAT (following Nick Bunker & Mark Blunden completing their terms). Please find the job description attached. If you are interested, please reach out to Neil Ashman () or Malik Ramadhan () for a conversation.

Applications/Expressions of Interest for the posts will close on Wednesday 3rd December 2025.
