About Our Place

Do you enjoy working with young people? Are you creative, flexible, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that you deliver a service that is good enough for your child? Are you a strong advocate who wants to support and advocate for young people? Now in our third year of operation, we have a range of job opportunities for you.

Due to the promotion of our manager, we are seeking a registered manager to lead our exciting and innovative service. We also have opportunities for residential key workers and portfolio leads.

Our Place is a creative and flexible service working with the most vulnerable young people and their families. Originally developed by North Yorkshire County Council as the No Wrong Door model, it was renamed Our Place by our young people. The model emphasizes providing multi-agency support to young people aged nine plus who are in or on the edge of care, aiming for permanence in a family setting.

We use relational and restorative approaches, working with young people at their pace to support their growth and potential.

Service Details

The service is based in the Our Place Hub and offers:

* A residential component, rated good by Ofsted in February 2025
* A responsive and flexible outreach support
* Bespoke packages of care

The service is delivered by a multidisciplinary team, managed by a Practice Manager who is also the registered manager of the residential hub. The team includes two deputy managers, key workers, and portfolio leads who support young people both in the hub and through outreach work in the community.

Our multidisciplinary team includes a Clinical Psychologist (life coach), Speech and Language Therapist, Police officer, Hub foster carers, higher needs supported lodgings carers, Data Analyst, and Business Support staff.

Additional Information

The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff are expected to share this commitment.

Casual User Car Allowance is payable.

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, including a barred list check for child workforce.
