A South East university is seeking a Head of Financial Accounts on a full-time permanent contract. The post holder will lead three teams, driving accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and successful year-end audits. Key responsibilities:
* Lead the University's Financial Accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting
* Oversee annual accounts, monthly reporting, treasury management, and tax compliance
* Safeguard research funding and support financial forecasting across academic divisions
* Manage and enhance financial systems and income collection portals
* Build strong relationships across the University to ensure smooth financial operations
* Ensure robust controls to protect assets and meet regulatory and funding requirements
* Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing finance team
Essential criteria:
* CCAB Qualified Accountant
* Extensive senior financial management experience in complex organisations
* Strong knowledge of HE/FE SORP, VAT, and current accounting standards
* Expertise in financial strategy, reporting, and systems development
* Proven leader of high-performing finance teams
Annual Salary:
£57,000 - £64,000
