Overview
You will serve as a Proposals Manager on the Energy Proposals Team, working closely with the Energy business to develop tailored solutions for regulated and private sector clients. The role involves leading capture and winning activities, producing high‑quality written content, and ensuring bid governance and review processes are followed.
Typical responsibilities
* Lead, drive and implement opportunities through a structured, robust work‑winning and governance process against agreed timescales.
* Manage and facilitate the delivery of all or parts of Expressions of Interest, Pre‑Qualifications and Proposals, including kick‑off, winning and review meetings.
* Manage interfaces with the proposals team, multidisciplinary engineering teams, other UK/global business streams, external clients and partner organisations.
* Manage multiple bids concurrently, depending on size and complexity.
* Facilitate defining bid strategy, win themes, storyboards and developing value propositions.
* Write and support impactful, tailored, technically differentiated bid content.
Qualifications
* Degree level qualification in a relevant subject or demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role.
* Commitment to achieving APMP Foundation as a minimum.
Skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent command of the English language.
* Robust project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and commercial acumen.
* Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
* IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and/or Microsoft Project is advantageous.
* Basic knowledge of AI as applied to a work‑winning environment.
Experience
* Relevant experience in a similar role, ideally within engineering and construction.
* Previous experience in a bidding role with a demonstrable record of success.
* Understanding of public and private sector procurement processes.
* Experience producing tenders in the markets that WSP operates in.
