Role Summary

We are looking for a number of exciting Digital and AI Consultants to join us this year, helping to lead the charge in applying AI and advanced analytics to solve our clients' toughest problems – and see solutions through from idea to lasting impact. As Digital and AI Consultants you will turn ideas into operational solutions, working in agile, multi‑disciplinary teams. You’ll mentor colleagues and guide senior leaders on the ‘art of the possible' in digital – always keeping the client at the heart of everything you do. In this role you won’t just deliver code and leave – you’ll lead transformative digital change on the front lines. Imagine guiding an NHS trust to use AI so patients get treated faster, or helping a retailer deploy machine learning that cuts waste and boosts profit. As a Digital Consultant at Newton, you make that kind of impact happen every day. You embed AI, data science, advanced analytics and other cutting‑edge tools into operations – never stopping at theory or pilot. Agile and outcome‑driven, you turn ideas into solutions that stick. You work hand‑in‑hand with client leaders, guiding them on what’s possible with digital, while mentoring Newton colleagues and collectively managing the people and process changes needed to make improvements stick.

What The Role Involves

* Proactively identifying high‑impact opportunities to apply AI, data science, advanced analytics and digital tooling for sustainable value
* Leading the design and delivery of technical workstreams (e.g. building machine learning solutions or digital tools) to ensure projects achieve valuable and impactful results
* Guiding and inspiring multi‑disciplinary teams that blend people, process and technology to transform clients’ operations and deliver value
* Acting as a technical leader defining best‑practice approaches for designing and delivering digital solutions across our programmes
* Translating complex technical concepts into terms that non‑technical clients and colleagues can easily understand
* Staying current with market trends and innovations, finding ways to bring the latest technologies and approaches into our programmes
* Shaping our digital journey through mentoring colleagues and evolving how Newton uses digital tools, effectively changing how we deliver value
* Leading by example to build Newton’s digital culture
* Managing and developing consultants within your team, helping them grow and succeed

Requirements

Skills and Experience

* A proven track of taking digital ideas from concept to reality – you thrive on seeing a project through to operational success
* Deep expertise in one of AI, data science, advanced analytics or digital tooling – and be ready and enthusiastic to grow in the others
* Proven ability to operationalise ideas into solutions, not just designing concepts but implementing them into business processes in a hands‑on, agile and fast‑paced manner
* Strong leadership and team management skills, including experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and guiding them to deliver exceptional results while fostering collaboration
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement, with the skill to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling insights for non‑technical audiences
* Ability to mentor and develop others, using your technical knowledge and experience to build capability in colleagues and educate senior leaders on digital possibilities
* Exceptional problem‑solving and analytical skills, with determination and resilience to tackle challenging, high‑value problems and deliver above expectations
* Adaptability and continuous learning, staying current with market trends and quickly adapting to new tools, methods and project needs in a rapidly changing environment
* Unwavering client‑centric mindset, always focusing on delivering value for the client and ensuring solutions align with client needs to achieve tangible business outcomes
* Working with client teams on the ground, our consultants typically spend time on‑site during the week to drive change hand‑in‑hand with clients

Attitudes and Values

We value outcome‑focused, resilient leaders who can collaborate and mentor others. Newton’s culture is low‑ego and high‑integrity – we take pride in doing the right thing for our clients and our people. We look for those who are constantly learning and push the boundaries of what’s possible in a respectful, team‑driven way.

Benefits

Our history is one of rapid growth and successful candidates will play a leading role in shaping the future of our digital capabilities. We don’t just talk about putting our people first – we mean it. From day one you’ll get support from several sources – from stretching projects, on‑the‑job feedback and developmental guidance from senior directors and partners. You’ll have a dedicated and consistent Development Manager to support your career progression. You’ll receive regular appraisals and annual pay reviews. You will have access to the latest technology, the ability to work across different market sectors and work with the c‑suite in our clients. As a high‑performer, you will be supported by our senior leadership team to quickly progress – this role is on track to advance to partner level for the right person. You will be part of a tight‑knit digital community within Newton, working with brilliant, practical and mission‑driven colleagues. We pride ourselves on an environment where everyone from graduate to partner contributes to ideas and improvements as equals. We offer a highly competitive salary and a generous benefits package that includes Life Assurance, Income Protection, pension contributions and 28 days holiday (not including bank holidays). We also operate profit share and equity schemes so that our people share in the success of the business. The profit share bonus is based on company performance and typically paid out in March and September.
