NTT DATA is currently looking for a z/OS Mainframe Storage Consultant (hybrid working) for our growing team in the UK.
Overview
The z/OS Mainframe Storage Consultant is responsible for leading, building and supporting the zSeries Storage hardware and software infrastructure in one of the largest z/OS environments globally.
Role responsibilities
1. Perform a Technical Project Management role for large zSeries infrastructure deployment and evergreening projects
2. zSeries Storage hardware / software design, configuration, testing, implementation and support
3. Setup automation to reduce manual interventions in the Storage infrastructure
4. Test new software and exploit functionality
5. Consolidate and reduce infrastructure complexity
6. Risk and Cost Management
7. Ensure Service Quality Targets are met for offered platform services
8. Business stakeholder management
9. Vendor liaison and management
Skills
Mandatory:
10. The successful candidate will ideally have multiple years of z/OS systems experience, specifically within Mainframe Storage (mainly IBM products)
11. Day to day support around products used in day to day activities
12. Understanding of CA Products - Vantage, CA Disk, CA Allocate
13. Demonstrable experience with Storage platforms in Object area, with experience in Dell EMC ECS, NetApp StorageGrid, Veritas Enterprise Vault, OpenText InfoArchive, Cloudian, VAST, Scality, IBM COS, or Pure
14. Hardware support knowledge - channel troubleshooting. Mid-level knowledge
15. IWS to analyse housekeeping schedules
16. Experience working within an Agile environment
17. Automation scripting with API (using scripting languages such as Ansible, Python etc.)
18. Maintain "can do" attitude and stay positive towards challenges
19. Ability in working under pressure and flexible in work scheduling with colleagues in different time zones
Nice to have:
20. Experience with AWS, GCP, MS Azure, NAS, SAN and backup
21. Knowledge and experience in tools like JIRA, Confluence, Ansible
22. T REX and RTD
23. OAM - Object Access Method
