Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Fire Safety Consultant to join a dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will ensure fire safety compliance across a diverse portfolio of properties, providing expert advice, conducting risk assessments, and supporting the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
• Fire Risk Assessments: Lead comprehensive fire risk assessments across a range of commercial and residential premises, ensuring adherence to current legislation and best practice.
• Consultancy and Advisory Services: Deliver expert, tailored fire safety advice and strategies to clients, addressing specific risks and operational needs.
• Fire Door Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of fire doors, ensuring regulatory compliance and providing guidance on required remedial work.
• Team Support and Mentoring: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior consultants, promoting knowledge sharing and consistent service delivery.
• Client Engagement: Maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and point of contact for fire safety matters.
• Report Writing: Produce clear, detailed reports outlining assessment findings, recommendations, and prioritised action plans.
• Regulatory Compliance: Keep abreast of changes in fire safety legislation, standards, and best practices, ensuring the consultancy remains at the forefront of the industry.
Qualifications, Experience, Skill & Professional Registration:
• Relevant fire safety qualification, such as Level 4 Certificate/Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment or equivalent.
• Professional membership with bodies such as the IFE (Institution of Fire Engineers) or IFSM (Institute of Fire Safety Managers).
• Ideally a Tiered Registered Fire Risk Assessor with a recognised professional body.
• Significant experience conducting fire risk assessments within both residential and commercial environments.
• Demonstrable experience in developing fire safety strategies and overseeing implementation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and effectively.
• Confident leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• High-level report writing and attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, relevant British Standards, and building regulations.
