We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Sales & Estimating Engineer to support the preparation of competitive quotations and deliver technical sales support for mechanical engineering projects. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to develop accurate cost estimates, build strong customer relationships, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across a range of sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare accurate mechanical estimates, quotations, and tender submissions based on client specifications and drawings.
* Review technical documents, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope and costs.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to obtain pricing and technical information.
* Provide technical sales support and advice to customers throughout the enquiry and project lifecycle.
* Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-effective solutions.
* Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and supporting documentation.
* Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while supporting new business opportunities.
* Work collaboratively with the operations and project teams.
* Monitor market trends, pricing, and competitor activity.
* Ensure all estimates and proposals are completed within required deadlines.
* Maintain accurate records of quotations, correspondence, and project information.
Skills & Experience
* Experience in mechanical estimating, technical sales, or mechanical engineering within construction, manufacturing, HVAC, building services, or a related industry.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Commercial awareness with a customer-focused approach.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
* Full UK driving licence may be advantageous depending on the role.
Qualifications
* Relevant industry experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
