Consultant Urogynaecologist

We are looking to recruit a specialist Urogynaecologist to join a highly regarded team of 32 Consultants within the Directorate of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. The unit is accredited by the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG) and was rated "Good" by the Care Quality Commission in March 2025.
Main Duties
* Provide the full range of specialist urogynaecological services in line with RCOG BSUG and NICE guidance.
* Work collaboratively with two Consultant Urogynaecologists, four Advanced Nurse Practitioners, dedicated support staff and colleagues in Urology and Colorectal Surgery.
* Participate in the Trust Urogynaecology MDT monthly and a regional MDT quarterly.
* Attendance at obstetric Caesarean section list.
* Deliver outpatient clinics, specialist investigations and surgical management of urogynaecological conditions.
* Maintain a regular day‑case list for outpatient urogynaecology procedures once per month, supporting minimally invasive treatments in the outpatient setting.
* Assist with the training of residential doctors through a urogynaecology Structured Integrated Training Module (SITM).
Qualifications & Experience
* Full GMC registration.
* CCT or equivalent.
* Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register, or eligibility for entry within 6 months of appointment.
* Sub‑specialty in Urogynaecology.
* Willingness to participate in audit programmes and quality improvement projects.
* Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, flexibly and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Academic, Research & Clinical Training
* Evidence of participation in audit programmes, QI projects or research publications.
* Experience of leading or contributing to change initiatives.
* Experience working within an acute care team with a focus on safety and planning.
* Attendance at MDT meetings and demonstration of team leadership.
Personal Attributes and Circumstances
* Understanding and application of diverse patient care needs.
* Excellent communication and prioritisation skills; collegiate approach to care.
* Arrangements to meet travel requirements (must reside within 20 miles of base or be able to return within 30 minutes).
* Availability for on‑call duties, including telephone access.
