The Role
:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll become a vital part of a close-knit engineering division, working on complex mechanical systems from concept through to installation.
You will:
1. Manage multiple projects simultaneously
2. Produce concept and detailed production designs using SolidWorks
3. Generate all necessary technical documentation: manufacturing drawings, certification input, user manuals, FAT/SAT procedures
4. Design components such as jigs, fixtures, moving mechanisms, and assemblies
5. Get hands-on with prototype build, testing, and assembly on the shop floor
6. Attend client meetings and site visits to understand requirements and ensure successful project delivery
7. Work closely with software and electrical teams for integrated SPM builds
What We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking someone with the confidence and technical creativity to deliver turnkey design solutions. You’ll be someone who’s not afraid to ask questions, who enjoys variety, and who can hold both technical and casual conversations with colleagues and clients.
8. Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred, but others considered)
9. Experience designing mechanical systems and machinery
10. HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
11. UK driver’s license and willingness to travel for client visits
12. Experience with SPM
13. FEA analysis using SolidWorks Simulation (or equivalent)
14. Confident handling projects cradle-to-grave
The Package:
15. Competitive Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE)
16. Annual profit related bonus’s
17. Holidays: 26 Days + Bank Holidays
18. Ability to earn up to 3 additional holiday days
19. Half day on a Friday
20. Office-based role, however flexible working can be offered
