Position Overview
The Sales Director will drive profitable SFX sales growth by developing and implementing a clear sales strategy focused on identified customer needs and supported by strong market understanding. This role involves building and leading a motivated customer-facing team, utilizing the Saica Flex Sales System (SFSS) as a foundation for success.
Specific Tasks/Accountabilities
* Apply Group Policies: Equal Opportunities, Environment, Quality, and Health & Safety.
* Lead and monitor SAICA FLEX sales activities to achieve year-end targets, initiating early actions and sales projects to address gaps.
* Define, share, and explain a medium-term vision (strategy) to guide daily commercial and marketing activities and decision-making.
* Support, supervise, and track regional/site marketing plans.
* Ensure the annual sales budget aligns with the overall annual budgeting process and long-term goals.
* Maintain the right organizational structure and resources at each level.
* Ensure timely reporting to main SFX stakeholders.
* Utilize the SFSS sales approach across the team, adhering to the defined methodology.
* Supervise and ensure adherence to SFSS procedures and methodology regionally.
* Assist in defining, implementing, and tracking innovation projects in collaboration with R+D+I within the region/portfolio.
* Provide market and customer insights to support R+D+I initiatives.
* Implement and monitor organizational effectiveness with HR support, deploying training and development programs to build an efficient and motivated sales team.
* Act as a coach for direct reports, establishing clear development plans.
* Provide performance feedback during People Review processes and meetings.
* Lead a technical support program to grow existing customer accounts and develop new opportunities, focusing on sales and margins.
* Support sales development through technical relationships with customers and OEMs, advising on Capex and future development needs.
* Lead the Customer Service team to champion customer satisfaction (measured via NPS) and ensure a positive supplier status.
Undertake any other duties as requested by their line manager within the scope of the role.
Skills, Qualifications & Attributes
Qualifications/Training
* University degree in Economics, Engineering, Commerce/Marketing, or similar.
* Master's degree in Commerce/Marketing.
* Knowledge of microeconomics (balance sheet, profit and loss account, etc.).
* Sales and negotiation techniques.
Professional Experience
* 5-7 years’ experience as a Sales Director in industrial or mass consumption sectors.
* 3-5 years’ experience managing sales teams.
