Overview
Principal Waste and Resources Consultant – leading strategy, project delivery and client relationships across the UK to transform waste into valuable resources.
Responsibilities
* Lead and deliver high‑impact projects focused on waste management and circular economy principles.
* Deliver and review technical outputs including construction & excavation waste classification (WM3 guidance), waste reuse mechanisms, environmental permits, strategic documentation, circular economy application, environmental impact assessment – material assets and waste chapters, and compliance advice.
* Project‑manage medium to large‑scale projects: tendering, financial management, client liaison, contractual KPI oversight, and resourcing.
* Build and maintain client relationships to secure future work.
* Drive business development through proposal preparation and project delivery.
* Mentor and develop junior colleagues.
Qualifications
* Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geology or related discipline (MSc highly desirable).
* Extensive experience in waste and resources management, especially construction and excavation waste, with deep knowledge of UK waste legislation.
* Proven project‑management experience delivering projects on time and within budget.
* Experience managing staff and leading teams.
* Chartered status (CIWM, ISEP, or equivalent) or actively pursuing it.
* Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
* Proactive, strategic mindset capable of innovation and inspiration.
* Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.
* Ideally based within an hour of Bristol, Manchester or Hemel Hempstead.
