This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team of clinical researchers conducting innovative clinical trials in neurology and general internal medicine. The successful candidate will play a key role as an investigator in drug development and clinical trials, ensuring the highest safety standards for participants while adhering to ethical and regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assessing suitability and obtaining consent for research
2. Conducting comprehensive medical assessments, including neurological and physical examinations
3. Supporting trials at the LWENC site and at the Bloomsbury campus in infectious diseases and cardiology
4. Performing clinical procedures such as lumbar puncture and intrathecal dosing of experimental medications
5. Evaluating trial data and managing adverse events
6. Ensuring informed patient consent and maintaining accurate research records
7. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and primary care providers
8. Responding to urgent medical queries and clinical emergencies following ALS RESUS guidelines
This role offers excellent experience for those pursuing specialty applications in neurology or medical specialties. Candidates will gain hands-on exposure to clinical trials, interact with leading experts at Queen Square, and participate in NHS specialty clinics and teaching opportunities like Gower’s Round at NHNN.
