A client within the Public Sector based in Staffordshire is currently recruiting for a Principal Building Control Surveyor to join their Building Regulations team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Building Control environment.The RoleKey purpose of the role is to support the Building Regulations Team Manager in delivering high-quality, statutory building control services, managing a small team, and deputising where required.Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
* Lead and manage a high-performing Building Control team, ensuring statutory duties are fulfilled.
* Inspect building works, assess plans, and enforce compliance with Building Regulations.
* Represent the authority on safety at sports grounds and manage issues relating to dangerous structures and high-rise buildings.
The CandidateTo be considered for this role you will require:
* A degree in Building Surveying (or similar) or equivalent qualifications and experience.
* A recognised fire safety qualification for high-rise buildings.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
* Experience working unsupervised on dangerous structures and safety at sports grounds.
* Proven leadership and communication skills, including managing partnerships and regulatory frameworks.
* Strong analytical skills to interpret complex legislation and provide expert advice.
