Job Description
As our Events Community Co-ordinator you will develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders of Saffron Sheffield, including previous and current clients, major and individual donors, corporate supporters and community groups. You will engage supporters by managing the publicity and delivery of income-generating, awareness-raising, and client engagement activities and events. You will also generate high-quality content to raise awareness of our service to support events, develop and maintain an engaging profile across email, social media platforms, printed media and our website to maximise events/community impact.
Key Tasks:
Events
Design and deliver events to completion and follow up:
● Designing appropriate events that serve the needs of the charity within the available budget
● Identifying, booking and liaising with event spaces/fundraiser opportunities
● Promoting and securing sufficient attendees for events.
● Sourcing/engaging/briefing/supporting and panelists/speakers
● Creating communications plans/briefing meetings with relevant stakeholders for each event, e.g. trustees, staff and volunteers.
● Capturing relevant data and recording on Saffron’s CRM system (Donorfy)
● Develop a safeguarding plan and risk assessment for each event.
● Attend and host duties at events.
● Capturing feedback and evaluation data from events.
Communications/awareness raising for events
● Create, schedule and publish content for our digital platforms (social media, email & website) to increase outreach and promote events.
● Create, schedule and send external news and update emails to our external stakeholders.
● Support the design, development and distribution of promotional and fundraising materials.
● Proofread and fact-check key content before publication to safeguard Saffron’s brand and reputation.
● Review and measure the impact of communication activities for events.
● Utilise, maintain and update Saffron’s CRM systems.
Stakeholder/Supporter relationships
● Understanding the women we work with and the services we deliver in order to passionately communicate what we do to supporters, including developing client case studies and working alongside Saffron’s client engagement group, Saffron Forge.
● Building strong relationships with gatekeepers and maintaining enthusiasm for Saffron with each group.
● Achieving, in collaboration with the wider team, an agreed annual fundraising target.
● Work with the CEO to develop and refine Saffron’s case for support, especially in relation to individual giving. Additional Responsibilities
● Undertake any other duties consistent with the post's nature and as may be determined between the post holder and the CEO
● Actively engage with other team members and work constructively with colleagues and managers in all aspects of the charity’s work.
● Participate fully with the agreed support structures for the post.
● Conduct all work within statutory requirements, professional guidance and Saffron Sheffield policies and procedures, e.g. risk management, safeguarding, health and safety.
● Work at all times with respect and sensitivity to the needs of clients and volunteers.
