Resuscitation Officer

Main duties of the job
Improve the quality of care and reduce morbidity and mortality ofpatients needing resuscitation and emergency medical or trauma careby training delivery, assessment and support for health careprofessionals, to ensure they have the knowledge and skills necessaryto manage patients of all age groups in accordance with national andinternational guidelines, and relevant local policies and procedures.
The post holder will work independently with discretion to work withinbroad occupational policies regarding the delivery of Resuscitationtraining.
Attend resuscitation, medical and trauma emergencies providingsupport and guidance to the team leader, also ensuring audit of theevent and providing feedback to team members.Audit resuscitation calls, activities, outcomes and assist with thedevelopment of training programmes, which reflect audit information.Assist Resuscitation Practitioner & Clinical Skills Manager in theprovision of a flexible and fully comprehensive resuscitation servicesto all Service Level Agreement contractors.
Welsh Skills Desirable:This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn't mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

Person Specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* Registered Health Care Professional
* Range of Clinical and Teaching/Training qualifications equivalent to Degree study.
* RC(UK) ALS or EPLS Provider instructor/ (IP)
* Resuscitation Council (UK) Basic and Advance Life Support Guidelines including clinical supportive literature
* Knowledge of National and Local Emergency Care protocols and procedures.
* IT Literate.
* PGCE, or working towards qualification
* ATLS observer certification.
* CCU/ITU/Paramedic practitioner.
* Research Module
Experience
* Experience in an acute/emergency care clinical setting.
* Advanced medical and trauma resuscitation skills for all client groups (including delivering cannulation and intubation training)
* Highly developed communication skills, and able to communicate with staff at all levels..
* Assessment and Audit skills.
* Good organisational and planning skills
* Experience teaching resuscitation and emergency care.
* ALS/ATLS/EPLS. NLS/ALERT practice
Personal Qualities
* Dynamic.
* Flexible to the needs of the service
* Motivated
* Supportive.
* Team player
* Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above/B2) are Desirable for this Role.

* Able to work hours flexibly.

* Flexibility and adaptability towards travelling, unsocial hours and working patterns, including occasional overnight stays
