Hours: 37 hours a week – flexible, covering between 9:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday, and 10:00am to 3:30pm on Saturdays. The role is preferably full-time, however, part-time or job share arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
Salary: £25,200 per annum
Contract: Fixed term, 1 July 2025 (or as close as possible) – 31 March 2027.
Location: Hybrid role with a base at our Brighton Hub, Queens Road, Brighton.

Join Our Localities Team – Make a Difference Through Friendship
We are excited to offer this opportunity for a motivated individual to join our Localities team and support our Gift of Friendship Befriending programme across Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove.
If you're someone who’s highly organised, eager to learn, passionate about supporting older people and excited by the idea of making a difference through creating lasting friendships and connections for older people – this could be the role for you!
What You’ll Do
Play a key role in the Befriending team, leading on the day to day delivery of the Gift of Friendship Befriending Programme. Act as the first point of contact for all enquiries, working with the locality teams, Volunteer team and Head of Localities. Manage administration processes, including maintaining an accurate the database, monitoring KPIs, reporting for service commissioner and building referral pathways. Match Befriendees with a volunteer Befriender, ensuring meaningful and supportive connections. Provide ongoing training and supervision for volunteer Befrienders to support their development.
What You’ll Bring
Great people skills; you must be able to communicate well with older people, volunteers, colleagues and external partners. A passion for working with older people, especially those who are experiencing loneliness and social isolation. Great administration skills and attention to detail. Confidence working with data, compliance and KPIs.
