The post-holder will be a member of a team providing Clinical Engineering Services for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and other locations. These services cover the management of medical devices within the Trust, including maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
Safety and good working practices are essential to the duties, which are highly specialised and non-routine, demanding a high level of responsibility and independent judgment.
The Clinical Engineering service operates within a quality system ISO9001. Responsibilities include:
1. Planned preventive maintenance and calibration of a wide range of equipment.
2. Planning and prioritising own workload as allocated by the Team Leaders.
3. Working in close proximity to patients most days.
4. Handling heavy equipment requiring physical effort.
5. Fault finding and repair on complex medical equipment.
6. Assisting with maintenance work within the section, as directed by Team Leaders.
7. Undertaking project work as directed.
8. Maintaining and developing the quality system.
9. Accurately keeping equipment service records in the Clinical Engineering e-Quip system.
10. Reporting deficiencies in tools or training needs to Team Leaders.
11. Managing stock spares levels, reordering when necessary.
12. Working flexibly to meet service requirements.
13. Performing duties at a comparable level of responsibility as agreed with the job holder.
14. Traveling to other hospitals when necessary; a driving license is desirable.
