The Opportunities
We have two Receptionist/Administrator vacancies available at Grove Surgery. These roles will involve supporting the smooth running of the surgery by providing both reception and administrative support.
Working Patterns
Post 1 – 18 hours per week
* Monday: 08:30 – 14:30
* Tuesday: 08:30 – 14:30
* Wednesday: 08:30 – 14:30
Post 2 – 21 hours per week
* Monday: 08:30 – 18:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch)
* Tuesday: 14:00 – 18:00
* Wednesday: 08:30 – 18:00 (1 hour unpaid lunch)
Key Responsibilities
* Provide an effective and efficient reception service for patients and visitors.
* Facilitate effective communication between patients, the primary healthcare team, secondary care, and other agencies.
* Prepare and tidy consulting rooms.
* Manage appointments, enquiries, and follow-up requests.
* Ensure urgent cases are seen promptly and appropriately.
* Record and relay accurate messages, including visit requests, deaths, and home visit details.
* Support the team with a variety of administrative and clerical duties.
* Welcome and register new patients, explaining practice arrangements clearly.
* Assist patients courteously and efficiently in accessing appropriate services.
About You
* Previous experience in a reception or administration role (healthcare experience desirable but not essential).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Able to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a busy environment.
* A positive, approachable manner with a commitment to high-quality patient care.
