HR and Finance Administrator
Location: Ilford, East London
Start Date: January 2026
Pay: £16 - £19 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Long-term (with potential for permanent placement)
Remedy Education are looking for a highly organised and proactive HR and Finance Administrator to join a friendly and successful school in Ilford from January. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative experience in the education sector who is confident working across both HR and finance functions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the school's day-to-day operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance, and efficient communication across departments.
The role:
Manage and maintain accurate HR and staff records using Arbor
Process new starter paperwork, contracts, DBS checks, and absence tracking
Support payroll preparation and maintain staff attendance and leave records
Assist with financial administration, including purchase orders, invoices, and reconciliation
Liaise with suppliers, staff, and external agencies regarding payments and HR queries
Support the School Business Manager with budget monitoring and reporting
Ensure compliance with safeguarding and data protection policies at all times
Provide general administrative support and contribute to a positive office environment
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience using Arbor (essential)
Have previous experience working in a school office or educational setting
Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Be confident using Microsoft Office and school management systems
Have knowledge of HR and finance processes, ideally within education
Be professional, discreet, and approachable with a strong work ethic
Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS
