Aerotron Composites (ACL) is a privately owned company, one of a number of successful aviation companies in the Aerotron group. At our site in Chatteris we manufacture composite aircraft components for a number of major aerospace manufacturers. We are currently expanding our manufacturing capacity and will launch new repair capability for airlines within a new build extension of our current facilities.
We are looking for Buyer or Senior Buyer (depending on experience) to join our Supply Chain Team within our Production Control Team. The Production Control Team (PCT) are collectively accountable for the on-time delivery to customers and work cross functionally across departments, to convert the schedule into a production plan, manage risks and opportunities across Production and be consistent in communication to all stakeholders on the forecast production delivery date. Job Purpose:
Responsible to the Purchasing Manager for coordinating quotes from suppliers, managing the purchase of demands in line with the MRP system and management of suppliers. Ensuring materials are bought in line with procedures and available to start Production on time.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Responding to demands (MRP + requisitions), and organising quotes from suppliers
· Assist in the supply of components/Services to meet Production Scheduling for efficient achievement of agreed customer deliveries
· Management of stock code data to feed MRP system (EBQ, lead time, preferred supplier, supplier stock codes)
· Recommend REQ’s and raise for approval
· Assist in maintaining the approved suppliers list
· Management of the purchasing mailbox and timely responses to all communications
· Ensure all purchases and suppliers are in accordance with procedures
· Management of key suppliers including outsource operations
· Protect the company’s interests in all dealings with suppliers
· Fully comply with company policies including Health and Safety at all times
· Booking logistics
· Continually update Purchasing information within MRP
· Any other reasonable duties as and when required
· Communicate with other departments within the Business
· Ensure stock levels are correct to meeting contractual minimum requirements
· Undertake supplier negotiations for existing and new programme demands
· Ensure the product is delivered in accordance with specification, with delivery schedule and quantity

· Self-driven with excellent organisation and administration skills
· Analytical individual with the ability to recommend purchases based on demands
· Degree level or equivalent experience
· Previous experience as Buyer/estimator required
· Ability to understand a manufacturing environment and to coordinate multiple customers demands
· Experience of working in a production or operational environment
· PC literate, advanced knowledge of MS excel essential and other MS office including project desirable
