Data Engineer role, available on a Permanent basis for a Housing Association investing in the development of its Data & Business Intelligence capability.
Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, this role will lead the development and operation of the organisation’s data engineering function. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing scalable pipelines for Power BI Dashboard creation, strengthening data quality and governance standards, and enhancing reporting and analytics capability across the business.
Location: Devon, Hybrid – 1–2 days per week in the office

The essential skills and experience for this role are:
* At least 2 years’ experience in a Data Engineer or similar technical data role
* Strong SQL/T-SQL development and optimisation skills
* Experience designing, building and maintaining data pipelines
* Experience using orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory, SSIS or equivalent
* Experience implementing data validation, reconciliation checks and data quality controls
* Experience designing and implementing dimensional models (e.g. star schemas)
* Ability to translate stakeholder requirements into practical technical solutions
* Experience within the Social Housing sector
* Experience with Power BI or SSRS
* Exposure to CI/CD, automated testing or DataOps practices
* Microsoft Azure or Data Engineering certifications
The position will involve developing and optimising scalable data pipelines, enhancing warehouse performance, implementing strong data governance controls, and supporting regulatory and operational reporting requirements. You will work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure trusted, well-structured data underpins strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
