The opportunity
This is a genuine growth role with a clear pathway: BDM → Senior BDM → Head of Business Development → Director (for top performers). If you're hungry, strategic, and great with people, you'll have the autonomy, backing, and resources to make a tangible impact—and build a career at the top. What you'll do
* Own growth: source, qualify, and close new business across drainage and civils in target regions
* Build pipelines: develop relationships with main contractors, housebuilders, civils, utilities, and FM
* Win work: lead bids, proposals, frameworks, and preferred supplier agreements
* Partner internally: work with Operations and HSEQ to ensure seamless delivery and delighted clients
* Stay sharp: track market trends, competitor moves, frameworks, and upcoming projects
* Hit numbers: meet/exceed agreed revenue, margin, and activity targets
* Represent the brand: attend industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums
What you'll bring
* Proven success in business development or sales within drainage, civil engineering, construction, or multi-utility
* A live network of decision-makers (QSs, PMs, Procurement, Directors) is a big plus
* Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
* Self-starter mentality: ambitious, resilient, and proactive
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across our regions

Earn £34,000–£46,800 base plus up to £36,000 in commission — a genuine high-earning, high-growth opportunity for a standout performer.
