Argyll and Bute Befrienders SCIO is a well-established charity supporting children and young people across Argyll and Bute since 1988. Our dedicated volunteers make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable children, helping them build confidence, develop social skills, and connect with supportive adults in their communities. Role Overview: We are seeking a part time compassionate and organised Project Worker to join our team. This role involves recruiting, training and supporting volunteer befrienders who provide crucial emotional and social support to children and young people aged 6-18. You’ll be working closely with families, volunteers, and partner agencies to ensure that the children we support have access to fun activities, new opportunities, and consistent, caring relationships. The post is for 18 hours per week and working days and hours are flexible so can be tailored to suit your availability. The contract is fixed for two years with extension subject to funding. Key Responsibilities: Support and supervise a team of volunteer befrienders. Manage a caseload of befriending matches, ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people. Engage with families and partner agencies to assess and address individual needs. Organise and participate in awareness-raising events and campaigns. Maintain accurate, confidential records and report on service activities. Working with Befrienders offers you the chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
