Organisation Charlton Athletic Football Club Salary To be discussed Location Charlton Athletic FC, Sparrows Lane Training Ground, South East London Contract type Closing date 12 December 2025 Job Description Job Purpose: As an Academy Therapist, you will be responsible for assisting the Lead U9-16s Academy Therapist and Head of Academy Medical with medical provision within the Academy for age groups U9-U16.

To provide clinic cover and/or match cover as required as requested by the Lead U9-16 Therapist and Head of Academy Medical

Duties and responsibilities:
· Work in conjunction with the Lead Academy Physiotherapist for provision of all physiotherapy duties associated with the U9-U16 age-groups.
· Provide pitch-side cover for tournaments, friendlies and weekend fixtures
· To manage medical provision at oversees and UK tournaments
· Assist with player screening and testing
· Provide pitch-side cover for evening and weekend training sessions · Liaise with coaching staff regarding player availability and progress
· Deliver clinics and rehabilitation to individuals and small groups
· Keep accurate records of all injuries as well as treatment, prevention and rehab sessions and record them on the club’s electronic medical records database (KML)
· Communicate with full-time medical staff on academy injures and management
· Keep up to date records of injury surveillance and player availability
· Maintain excellent communication with full-time medical staff to maintain exceptional standards in player care
· Assist with pitch- and gym-based strength and conditioning
· Take part in CPD and attend in-house developmental training
· Maintain a professional appearance and approach to club duties, always

Skills required:

· Excellent IT skills (E);
· Competent and personable with good time management skills (E);
· Ability to work calmly under pressure (E);
· High degree of personal drive and motivation (E)
· Ability to understand and adapt to the culture of a professional football club (E);
· Actively cooperate and communicate with others, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration (E);
· Positive about achieving Club, departmental and individual success (E);
· Proactively takes on new responsibilities and seek out opportunities to learn new skills (E);
· Must be accountable for delivering results within assigned levels of accountability (E).

Knowledge required:
· Experience working as a Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist/Sports Rehabilitator within elite sport (D);
· Experience of working with young athletes (D);
· Experience of working within paediatrics (D);
· Experience of working within professional football (D)

Qualifications required:
· BSc degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation (E);
· Advanced First Aid (ITMIFF) (E); or able to book place ASAP
· Registration with appropriate governing body (HCPC, SST, BASRAT) (E);
· Gym-based qualifications (D);
· FA Safeguarding Children Certificate (D);
