Overview
The Estates department at Furness General Hospital is a group of highly skilled electrical and mechanical engineers, creative building craftsperson, and dedicated support staff. We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic person to join us. You should be experienced, time served and suitably qualified in plumbing and heating, associated maintenance, and plant fault finding. This is a highly rewarding role. Working under the Mechanical Estates Officer, the successful candidate will embark on a challenging adventure, safely, efficiently, and with patient and staff safety at the heart of their focus.
Responsibilities
* Carry out mechanical maintenance and installation work within acute and community NHS properties, including water systems, heating and pressure systems, ventilation, air conditioning, steam production, medical gases, and other healthcare related mechanical services.
* Work as part of a team and individually; self-motivate and be able to work relatively unsupervised.
* Communicate effectively on all levels and be flexible, assisting other trades and undertaking other tasks to maintain building services.
Qualifications
* Experience, time served, and suitably qualified in plumbing and heating, associated maintenance, and plant fault finding.
* A healthcare background is advantageous but not essential; specific training will be provided.
* Flexible working, good communication skills, and the ability to support other trades as required.

* Community premises including Millom Hospital, GP Practice, and Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe
