Senior Architectural Modeller (Freelance with potential for long-term collaboration)
We’re looking for a Senior Architectural Modeller to lead our small team of 3D modellers and oversee the development of high‑quality 3D assets for architectural visualisation projects. The position begins on a freelance basis, with the possibility of evolving into a long‑term role.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and refine detailed, realistic 3D models from architectural drawings, sketches, or photo references.
* Lead a small team of modellers, assigning tasks, reviewing progress, and ensuring each project meets quality, accuracy, and deadline expectations.
* Maintain consistency across the modelling pipeline, ensuring clean geometry, proper organisation, and adherence to studio standards.
* Provide feedback and mentorship to team members to further their technical growth.
* Collaborate with the wider visualisation and project teams to resolve design and modelling challenges efficiently.
* Manage the handoff between modelling and rendering stages, ensuring technical accuracy and presentation quality.
* Contribute to workflow improvements, modelling templates, and internal process documentation.
Requirements
* Proficiency in 3ds Max (primary), with solid working knowledge of Rhino, Revit, and SketchUp.
* Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
* Skilled at modelling from both CAD drawings and photographic reference.
* Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive, self-directed approach.
* Excellent organizational and communication skills for team coordination.
* Able to read and interpret complex architectural drawings.
Desired Experience
* Previous experience leading or mentoring a small team of modellers in an architectural visualisation or design environment.
* Background working with large architectural practices or real estate developers.
* Familiarity with ZBrush or other sculpting tools for high-detail geometry is a plus.
* Strong artistic eye and continual motivation to improve modelling quality and efficiency.
Contract
* Freelance initially, with the potential to become a long-term contract or lead role.
* Remote work is accepted; applicants from Europe or nearby time zones preferred.
