We are looking for dedicated, compassionate and flexible Support Workers to join our team in Thame, Oxfordshire, providing essential support to people with learning disabilities and/or autism.
We are a charity dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities and/or autism, helping them lead fulfilling lives within their communities. We don't just see people we support as "individuals"; As a Support Worker, you will play an essential role in supporting people in our care, providing person-centred support that respects each person's uniqueness. You will be helping them to live their lives as independently as possible, while supporting them in their daily activities, socialising, learning new skills.
One person you may support is * Geoffrey, he is a wonderful person who is at the beginning of their transition from male to female. Accepting Geoffrey for who they are and supporting them throughout their transition.
Supporting Geoffrey in feeling comfortable with their feelings and emotions, providing a safe and accepting environment.
Encouraging Geoffrey's social inclusion by helping them get out and connect with others who share similar interests.
Supporting Geoffrey with life skills both at home and out and about, such as shopping, cooking, and helping with washing hair or having a shower
Respecting Geoffrey's autonomy, including understanding that they may cancel support on the day if needed.
Flexible Support Worker Role - Variable Hours
We're looking for a compassionate and dependable individual to provide flexible support to Geoffrey. While there are no fixed regular shifts, the typical pattern of shifts you may be asked to cover includes:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:00am to 4:00pm
On alternate Mondays, a later shift of 1:00pm to 5:30pm, with a return pick-up at 7:15pm after Geoffrey attends a social group
Occasionally, later starts or finishes may be needed depending on Geoffrey's mental health and support needs
Flexibility is key, as support needs can vary

Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. A good knowledge or training in Autism and mental health.
A UK manual driving licence (essential for supporting people to access the community).
You will support people to lead fulfilling lives, while being a reliable and empathetic friend and mentor.
