Role: Software Team Lead
Location: Shepton Mallet, Somerset (onsite role)
Salary: £competitive

Officer Hours:
Start between 7:30am-9am, Monday to Friday, Finish between 4.00pm-6.00pm Monday to Thursday, 2.00pm Friday Hybrid working (currently 3x days + in the office per week)
Profile:
My client is looking for a embedded C, C++ team leader who needs to be a people person as this is a management position.
This role will also involve writing software specifications, test plans and over seeing the software engineers.
Daily Roles:
* Leading a team of Software Engineers.
* Ensuring the team is efficient and productive, whilst maintaining a high standard of work.
* Assigning tasks and responsibilities within the team, meeting appropriate deadlines.
* Monitoring projects through the lifecycle design process
* Requirement specifications, high level design, development and test documentation.
* Implementation of software development procedures.
* Maintenance and enhancement of existing products including direct 3rd line support for client’s engineers and technicians and Field Service Engineers.
* Development of new products.
* Software build management.
Initial project:
* Support for new system development.
* Review software development procedures.
* Getting to know the Software Team.
* Requirement and design specifications.
* Development, proving and test reports.
* Help topics and operational manuals.
Key Skills:
* Broad software development experience. real time processes, database,
* C++/C,
* Linux or Windows development environment – inter process comms – RPM/Installer
* TCP, Serial comms.
Desirable skills:
* Embedded, 32-bit microcontroller, ARM, PIC.
* GUI development.
* Java, Python, PHP, SQL, BASH, HTML.
* Subversion.
* PostgreSQL/SQLite Eclipse, Visual Studio
* Autotools.
* I2C, One Wire comms, PCI Bus.
