Commercial Manager - UK Civils North Location: Manchester / North West Salary: Between £75,000 - £90,000 negotiable dependant on experience Role A successful provider of construction services is looking to bolster their commercial team within their UK Civils business unit with the appointment of a Commercial Manager to work on across 2 new civil engineering projects in the Northwest. The Commercial Lead will take full commercial responsibility and ownership for the project, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships and maximising commercial returns and managing risk. Key Responsibilities - Liaise with the customer, his representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional monies. - Cost and value management for project, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place - Financial reporting for project - Change management for project: record change and allocate responsibility. Evaluate/recover any change that is not Sisks's risk/liability (including recovery from 3rd parties. - Risk and opportunity management for project: management (with operations team) of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for best project return as well as identification and implementation of mitigation measures - Manage commercial team to ensure delivery of key responsibilities and develop their knowledge - Provide support and training for site staff on commercial items - Trains and shares knowledge at every opportunity and mentors as part of Excelerate Programme - Supervises the preparation of Cost Plans for complex projects, using a range of cost planning techniques and software, manages the compilation of data to permit various analyses - Interrogate and manages the suite of project cost reports from raw data and provides analysis that can inform key decisions - Prepares long term cash forecasts for complex projects, monitors results and interprets reasons for deviations.
