The role
Support Worker, Bridgend, £14.50-15.25 p/h We are looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Agency Support Workers to provide high-quality support to individuals with learning disabilities across a range of services. This rewarding role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, choice, and inclusion while delivering person-centred care and support tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Key Responsibilities Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, household tasks, and maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment. Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support, helping individuals build confidence and maintain positive wellbeing. Enable individuals to access community activities, appointments, and social opportunities, promoting independence and active participation. Assist with mobility and moving and handling activities using safe practices and appropriate techniques, ensuring the individual’s comfort, safety, and dignity. Support individuals who may exhibit behaviours that challenge, responding calmly, professionally, and in line with agreed support plans. Encourage and empower individuals to achieve their personal goals, develop life skills, and reach their full potential. Promote a person-centred approach at all times, respecting individual choices, preferences, rights, and independence. Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for those you support. Required Skills & Experience At least 6 months’ UK experience in care or supporting individuals with learning disabilities. A kind, patient, and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting others. Able to work well within a team while also being confident working independently when needed. Dependable, adaptable, and dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
