We are looking for an experience Compliance Specialist who has worked in the Lloyd's market, who will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating regulatory and financial crime risks across the Syndicate. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a market-leading compliance team.


Description


Financial Crime & Sanctions

* Monitor and assess financial crime risks including money laundering, bribery, and corruption.
* Conduct sanctions screening and escalate potential matches for further investigation.
* Support the implementation and maintenance of AML policies and procedures.
* Liaise with internal teams and external bodies (e.g., FCA, OFSI) on financial crime matters.


Conduct Risk

* Identify, assess, and report on conduct risks across business units.
* Support the development of frameworks to promote good customer outcomes and ethical behaviour.
* Assist in embedding the FCA’s Conduct Rules and SM&CR requirements.


Regulatory Compliance

* Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
* Support regulatory reporting and ensure timely submissions.
* Assist in preparing for regulatory audits and inspections.


Monitoring & Assurance

* Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and thematic assessments.
* Draft reports with findings and recommendations for remediation.
* Track and follow up on compliance issues and actions.


Policy & Training

* Contribute to the development and review of compliance policies and procedures.
* Deliver training sessions on compliance topics including financial crime, conduct risk, and regulatory obligations.


Advisory

* Provide day-to-day compliance advice to business units, particularly underwriting and claims teams.
* Support new product and business initiatives from a compliance perspective.


Required Knowledge and Skills

* Experience working in insurance firms, ideally across both Lloyd’s syndicates and company market.
* Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA) and Lloyd’s market rules.
* Experience with AML, KYC, sanctions screening tools, and transaction monitoring systems.
* Familiarity with Conduct Risk frameworks, SM&CR, and Consumer Duty.
* Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical guidance.
* Proficiency in compliance monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or GRC platforms).
