The UK SME Cyber market presents a compelling proposition for any dynamic insurer that is able to react quickly to changes in this fast-paced niche. The SME Cyber market currently delivers circa £300M in gross written premiums across the UK, and is anticipated to grow 15% annually over each of the next five years. As such, the creation of a standalone UK SME proposition represents a significant profitable growth initiative for this insurer’s UK Broker Channel Unit (already its largest and fastest growing Division).
This new operating model comprises a dedicated Cyber team (comprising some of the most gifted Underwriters in the niche), supported by a scalable digital trading capability.
Aston Charles is delighted to assist in the appointment of several Development Underwriters. These are home-based roles, and you can reside anywhere in the UK, although regular engagement with an allocated panel of brokers and occasional visits to a local office are required. We welcome applications from experienced Cyber Development Underwriters, Cyber Underwriters seeking a more broker-facing role, and DU’s from related insurance disciplines with a passion for Cyber.
In this role, you will support the development plan for a specific panel of brokers, working closely with the Head of Trading, Head of Cyber, and Broker Development Director to achieve strategic and income goals outlined in the Cyber financial plan.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong broker relationships, providing excellent service, and personally writing (often complex) Cyber business within your authority level and the company's risk appetite.
You should have a proven track record of building broker relationships and developing a pipeline of business, along with enthusiasm for engaging brokers and demonstrating the benefits of this exciting product.
