This SENCO post will involve direct support for pupils, oversight of provision maps, and strategic input into school improvement planning. The school serves a diverse community across Nottinghamshire, and the SENCO will play a pivotal role in ensuring equality of opportunity and measurable progress for pupils with additional needs. A comprehensive induction will be provided before January 2026 to embed the SENCO in local networks and school systems.
Responsibilities
* Lead the graduated approach: identify needs, implement targeted interventions and review outcomes systematically.
* Mentor and train staff to deliver inclusive practice and adapt classroom approaches effectively.
* Coordinate with health and social care professionals to secure timely specialist input.
* Maintain precise records, track progress and communicate outcomes to leaders and families.
* Contribute to whole-school planning, ensuring SEND priorities are embedded across Nottinghamshire cohorts.
Person specification
* Qualified teacher with substantive experience coordinating SEND and a track record of measurable impact.
* Confident in statutory duties, multi-agency liaison and in delivering high-quality staff development.
* Excellent organisation, empathy and the ability to prioritise across a busy caseload in Nottinghamshire.
* Committed to continuous improvement, reflective practice and collaborative working.
* Available to commence January 2026 and to work within the Nottinghamshire locality.
