Responsibilities
* Design and execute experiments for the expression of recombinant proteins in various host systems (e.g., bacterial, insect, mammalian cells).
* Develop and optimize protein purification strategies using chromatographic techniques (e.g., affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion).
* Perform biophysical and biochemical characterization of purified proteins to assess purity, integrity, activity, and stability (e.g., SDS-PAGE, Western blot, mass spectrometry, DLS, SEC-MALS, thermal denaturation assays).
* Contribute to the design and execution of protein engineering experiments to improve protein properties or function.
* Maintain detailed and accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and data analysis.
* Interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and present findings to internal teams.
* Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines, including molecular biology, assay development, and structural biology.
* Stay current with scientific literature and new technologies in the field of protein science.
* Adhere to safety regulations and good laboratory practices.

* Proven expertise in protein expression systems (e.g., E. coli, baculovirus/insect cells, mammalian cells).
* Extensive hands-on experience with protein purification techniques (e.g., ÄKTA FPLC systems, affinity chromatography, ion exchange, SEC).
* Proficient in protein characterization methods (e.g., SDS-PAGE, Western blot, mass spectrometry, DLS, fluorescence spectroscopy).
* Strong understanding of protein structure–function relationships.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
