Transport Development Auditor
£34,500 - £38,500
6 Months – Fixed-Term Contract
At our client, transport safety and compliance sit at the heart of everything they do. Their Transport Development Team plays a vital role in raising standards, strengthening road safety, and shaping positive driver and management behaviours across the business.
They’re now looking for a Transport Development Auditor on a 6-month fixed term contract to join the team and act as a key compliance checkpoint across all sites. This role offers a real opportunity to influence standards, support operational excellence and help shape the future of transport development across our Group.
What you'll be doing:
You’ll work closely with sites and leadership teams to assess, support and continuously improve transport compliance and performance. Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out routine transport audits across all sites, including 28‑day and quarterly reviews
* Preparing for audits remotely using company‑approved systems, followed by on‑site audits as required
* Ensuring Earned Recognition standards (Driver and Vehicle) are met prior to physical site visits
* Collating audit findings and delivering clear, structured feedback to stakeholders
* Presenting audit outcomes and recommendations to site teams and Area‑level leadership
* Creating and maintaining audit records in line with DVSA and ISO standards
* Identifying training and development needs for site transport teams
* Supporting succession planning by highlighting future talent for transport roles
* Ensuring audits are delivered consistently, fairly and within agreed timeframes
* Contributing to wider Transport Development initiatives and projects
* Keeping up to date with legislative changes and industry best practice through continuous professional development
What you'll bring to the role:
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Confident in using Microsoft Office packages
* Professional Competency in Transport Management (CPC) with relevant experience is desirable
* Experience managing processes in a fast‑paced operational environment
* Strong understanding of Operator License obligations is desirable
* Proven experience in using TACHO master is desirable
* Proven ability to analyse data, collate information and influence stakeholders
* Experience creating efficient systems and ways of working
* Confident creating and delivering content across a range of transport topics
* Ability to influence through data and insight to all levels across the organisation
* Exceptional attention to detail with strong cross‑referencing skills
* Experience supporting and driving change management
