About the Role
Energise Your Career, Accelerate a Net-Zero Future #RenewablesJobs
The opportunity
We're aiming to deliver 10GW of renewable energy by 2035, with a significant part from large-scale DCO projects—solar and battery storage systems ranging from 400MW to 800MW.
As a Senior Construction Manager, you'll lead the end-to-end construction of these Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs). Initially focused on preparing for Final Investment Decision (FID), you'll then oversee project execution, managing time, cost, quality, and safety.
You'll build and lead high-performing teams, oversee complex contractor schedules, manage budgets, mitigate risks, and coordinate across multiple workstreams. This role is central to one of the UK's most ambitious renewable energy initiatives.

We provide the flexibility and responsibility to make an impact, whether on-site, in the office, or hybrid working from home.
We champion diversity across gender, ethnicity, LGBT+, disability, and more, under our Everyone's Welcome inclusion programme. We are a disability confident employer and will support your application with necessary adjustments.
What you'll be doing
We seek a Senior Construction Project Manager with a strong background in delivering projects in complex environments, ideally within renewable energy or similar sectors. A degree in engineering, construction, or equivalent, and professional qualification in project management (e.g., APM PPQ) are required. Knowledge of PV/BESS infrastructure, grid code compliance, and experience working with DNOs/TNOs are essential.
Responsibilities include:
* Drafting scopes for contractors within Employer's Requirements.
* Preparing ITT packs for construction contracts.
* Managing relationships with major contractors (solar PV, battery storage, BoP).
* Communicating construction plans to other disciplines.
* Drafting and owning the construction Project Execution Plan (PEP).
What do you need to be great at this role?
You should demonstrate expertise in engineering design, contract and field execution strategies, managing multi-discipline EPCM projects, controlling costs, risks, schedules, and changes, and proficiency with Earned Value tools. Experience in managing contractors, consultants, and advisors in a regulated environment, including NEC and FIDIC contracts, is necessary. Knowledge of CDM Regulations and full project lifecycle is important. Strong communication and organizational skills are key to effective relationship-building and seamless project execution, maintaining safety, security, and environmental standards.
Location: UK-based, with regular site visits during development and construction.
Closing date: 19th June 2025
