Job Title: Housekeeper
Responsible to: Registered & Duty Manager
Hours: Saturday and Sunday 09:00am - 1:30pm
Job Summary:
We are a small friendly care home looking after 33 elderly clients. The role would suit a person who is suitably experienced in all aspects of housekeeping and have excellent communication skills. Availability to cover periods of holiday for the weekday housekeeping staff would be desirable.
Applicants for the role would need to be a minimum of 16 years old, salary would be reflective of age and experience for all workers under the age of 22.
We are looking for a person who can work independently, use initiative and have experience working in a similar role.
To ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the home at all times.
Key Tasks:
1) Maintain a high standard of cleanliness by:
a) Completing training, including that on cleaning chemicals, disposal of clinical waste, wearing of PPE and removing risks.
b) Following job roles and addition requests by management and residents.
c) Removing any spillages etc, as soon as they appear.
2) To work together with other members of staff in maintaining standards accordance with the philosophy of the home.
3) To assist with the washing of laundry.
4) To be aware of other relevant procedures of the home such as fire procedures and risk assessments.
5) To report to the management any inadequacies which may potentially be a hazard to the health and safety of residents and staff.
6) To cover the absence of colleagues during periods of annual leave and sickness.
