Job Role: Field Service Engineer (Plant Equipment)
Location: Exeter, Devon
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 base salary (OTE £40,000-£50,000)
Hours: Monday-Friday 07.00-16.30 + Company Vehicle/Fuel Card + Overtime @ 1.5x

The Client: Interaction Technical has partnered with a well-established plant hire firm to support their team’s growth. Our client, with over 50 years of experience, is looking to onboard & train engineers from backgrounds in plant, HGV, Automotive, or Agricultural sectors. They offer comprehensive training and internal progression routes.
The package includes:
* Overtime paid at 1.5x over 8 hours per day, with an average of 10-15 hours available weekly (additional earnings of £10,587 to £15,880 per annum).
* Company Vehicle, Fuel Card, and Door-to-Door Paid (unless workshop-based).
* Salary review after probation and in April 2026, with potential increases based on performance.
* 22 days annual leave + Public Holidays, increasing by 1 day per year of service up to 25 days.
* Salary Sacrifice Scheme for an additional 5 days annual leave.
* Full training & development with clear internal progression routes: Workshop/Mobile Engineer → Lead Engineer → Hiring Manager → Site Manager → Regional Manager, with salary increases at each level.
* Biannual bonus scheme based on company performance (average £500-£1200/year).
* Bridgewater Workload Cover (split among 3 engineers, minimal call-outs, paid at 1.5x).
* Additional £100 per rota of Workout cover (minimum £400/year).
* Internal progression in engineering, management, and diagnostics.
* Round-the-clock engineer assistance from senior staff.
The requirements include:
* Experience in the Plant, Automotive, HGV, or Agricultural industries.
* Experience with hydraulics, mechanical, and electrical systems.
* Engine experience is advantageous.
* Fault finding, repair, and servicing skills in electrical and mechanical systems.
* A desire to lead and manage teams.
* Relevant qualifications such as NVQ or City and Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous).
* Full UK Drivers License.
The responsibilities include:
* Travel to client sites for maintenance and repair of plant machinery.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
* Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and provide recommendations.
* Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance.
* Provide training to clients' staff on machinery operation and maintenance.
* Maintain detailed records of service activities.
* Communicate with the engineering team to improve product performance.
