We are currently seeking a Software Engineer (Node.js) to take responsibility for building, enhancing, and maintaining products or systems that support Sage’s business plans and long-term objectives, using the identified architecture. As a Software Engineer at Sage, you will collaborate with various disciplines and teams, both within and outside the Product Business Unit, to ensure consistency, quality, and successful project delivery. Please note that this role is hybrid and will require you to work 3 days a week from our Newcastle office. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software while contributing to peer reviews and overall code quality. • Resolve defects and bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches. • Engage in all phases of the project lifecycle and collaborate across various Sage teams and product lines to drive impactful results. • Maintain clear documentation and continuously improve existing products, systems, and services. Requirements • Background in software engineering, preferably with a focus on backend development. • Proficiency in Node.js and React; some exposure to .NET is a plus. • Experience with AWS or Azure. • Proven experience with Agile development, including SCRUM and/or Extreme Programming. • Skilled in API development and integration.
