Claims Executive – Marine
£35,000 - £40,000 | Colchester, Hybrid | Permanent
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Claims Executive to join a leading and well-established insurance brokerage based in Colchester. This is a full-time, permanent role within a supportive and professional team environment, offering hybrid working and genuine scope for career development.
About the Role
As a Claims Executive, you’ll play a key role in delivering an efficient, high-quality claims service to a portfolio of corporate and commercial clients, with a particular focus on Marine and Goods in Transit claims.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage claims of varying complexity from start to finish, including large or contentious cases
* Provide specialist advice and assistance on marine and transit losses
* Liaise with insurers, brokers, clients, and third parties to ensure swift, fair settlements
* Analyse claims data, identify trends, and support continuous improvement in processes
* Support and mentor junior members of the claims team
* Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in line with company and regulatory standards
* Visit clients where necessary to assess losses and strengthen relationships
About You
* Experience within a brokerage or insurance environment, handling corporate/commercial claims
* A strong understanding of Marine or Goods in Transit claims
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
* A customer-focused and collaborative approach
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
