Job Title: Senior Account Manager – IT Sales

Location: Sheffield

Job Type: Full-time



Job Summary:

The Senior Account Manager in IT Sales is responsible for leading strategic client relationships, driving revenue growth, and mentoring junior sales staff. This role demands a deep understanding of IT solutions, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to manage complex sales cycles across multiple sectors.



Key Responsibilities:

* Strategic Client Management
* Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
* Understand client business goals and align IT solutions to meet strategic objectives.
* Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights and recommendations on technology trends.
* Sales Leadership & Growth
* Develop and execute account strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets.
* Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within existing accounts and new prospects.
* Lead negotiations and close high-value deals.
* Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs
* Team Collaboration & Mentorship
* Mentor and support junior account managers and sales representatives.
* Collaborate with technical, marketing, and delivery teams to ensure client satisfaction.
* Coordinate cross-functional efforts to deliver seamless solutions.
* Reporting & Forecasting
* Track and report on key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results, forecasts).
* Prepare strategic account plans and present to senior leadership.
* Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategy.
* Client Advocacy & Problem Solving
* Resolve complex client issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
* Propose new tools, processes, or services to improve client outcomes.
* Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.



Required Skills & Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience in IT sales or account management, with a proven track record.
* Strong understanding of IT products and services (e.g., cloud, cybersecurity, infrastructure).
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to manage large account portfolios and complex sales cycles.



Preferred Attributes:

* Experience working with enterprise clients across public and private sectors.
* Certifications in IT sales or vendor technologies (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Cisco).
* Strategic thinker with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
* Comfortable working in fast-paced, target-driven environments.
* Ability to travel to client sites (note: driving may be required depending on territory).



Compensation & Benefits:

* Competitive base salary (e.g., £40,000–£60,000 depending on experience)
